My emotional attachment with the ‘Greeting Cards’

  

I still remember my school days when i used to be so excited on  those special occasions like  birthdays, new year, Christmas eve, friendship day. The excitement was for that one day off from school, from  the normal routine and to get connected with friends and family around. And  in those celebration one thing that  was so common was the ‘Greeting Cards’ 

 

Oh  yes those colorful cards, with sweet messages over it, in different sizes for every occasion and for all.. ohh I love them so much.  It was so good to give one to our friends, family members , teachers,  beloved ones  and to receive one from them, it gave so much happiness (yes as it is said happiness lies in those small little  things in life).  It has so much of emotions attached.  I still have those cards with me which I got in those days , it holds so much of sweet memories which does not fade away  with time and  these are really precious to me as  it’s the expression of love, emotion, feeling and sentiments. 

But it was a old story though,  now in the recent years with the electronic -cards coming in, greeting cards has lost its charm to some extent,  where people have no time to buy them, write some message and then post it. Life has got so busy that we have changed our way of maintaining relationship, just a text or an email thats what we can do for our loved one  rather writing our feelings on those cards. But  still for me these greetings cards can never be replaced with the e-cards.

 I don’t remember when did i last receive the one in the recent years but today I was just surprised to get one from mah friend who has no idea that how much I love them (and yes that friendship card has mah favorite colors on it, blue n yellow),  it really feels  good and  takes me back in mah childhood  days with those  sweet memories.

I must say these cards have not lost its essence for me, I have an emotional  attachment with these cards bcoz for me its not just the piece of paper but  has the sentiments of the person attached to it whose giving it  and I m happy to get one more added as mah sweet memory  and yes they always make me smile :-)
